William F. Riha, 86, widower of Judy, of Brainard, entered into rest on Friday, August 18, 2017 at the Butler County Health Care Center in David City.

Bill was born on December 21, 1930 to Frank and Anna(Prochaska)Riha at David City, Nebraska. He attended several area country schools for a number of years before tending to the family farm. Bill joined the U S Army in 1952, serving his country honorably until his discharge in 1954. After his service, he returned to Brainard, where he joined his father in running the family farm.
Bill was a hard working, honest and caring person, who was very involved in the community. While running the farm, he also worked at Gulf Central Anhydrous Plant for a number of years. In the mid 1980's, he took over the position of Motor Grader Operator for Center Township, which he diligently ran for over 22 years. Bill also worked for several years with Grubaugh Bros Auctioneers of David City. He was a life long caretaker and secretary of the Bohemian National Cemetery of Brainard.
Bill is survived by his children: Della Nisula, Kimberly Sarik, David Dusatko, Frank Riha, Martin Riha, Jessica Pitre, Morgan Riha and Meghan Riha; 8 grandchildren: Josh Dusatko, Shienne Wittwer, Mikaila Sarik, Mikey Sarik, Delaney Dusatko, Kemper Dusatko, William Pitre and Kristopher Pitre.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Judy, on May 7, 2017, and two children: Claudette and Jeremy Riha.
