Viola E. Hall, 95, of Rising City died Friday, December 6, 2019 at St. Joseph's Villa in David City.

Memorials: In Care of the Family

Immediately following the burial, a funeral lunch will be held at the Faith Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, 300 Hamilton, Rising City.

Viola Nordmeyer was born on March 11, 1924 at Rising City, Nebraska to Henry and Emma (Joost) Nordmeyer. She attended locals schools, graduating from Rising City High School in 1941. She then attended Midland College for two years. Vi was a homemaker/farmer's wife and she also worked as a cook at Rising City High School for over 15 years. On September 3, 1942, she married Carl Hoffman. Four daughters were born to this union. Carl passed away in 1964. She married Carl Hall in 1976. He passed away in 1982.

Vi was member of First Lutheran Church of Rising city. In her younger years, she was the church secretary/cleaning person for the church. She would raise huge flower and vegetable gardens and loved to be outside, working in those gardens. She was a good cook and pie baker, with her specialty being apple pie. She loved being involved with her church, family and watching birds, especially cardinals. She was the family caretaker for many years, caring for her grandparents, parents and other family members. She had a special bond with her three sisters, all who have preceded her in death.

Viola is survived by her daughters: DeEtte (Gary) Siffring of Rising City, Carol (Al) Stukenholtz of Nebraska City, Mardel (Jerry) Meinke of Lincoln and Brenda (Gerald) Dicke of Columbus. Step-family: Nelda Hartwig of Omaha, Linda Jo Hoffman of Arizona, Patricia Ruth of Walton and Mark Hall of Fredricksburg, VA. 11 grandchildren: Kevin(Rachel), Amy Siffring, Ty(Beth), Jay(Mary), and Rod(Julie)Stukenholtz, Jerad(Lauren)Meinke, Kara(Zachary) Meinke Baehr, Matthew(Angela) and James(Stephanie Ninneman) Dicke and Leah(Hyon) McCormick. 16 Great-grandchildren: Aubree & Braxton Siffring, Jack Stukenholtz, Jenna, Judah, Levi & Kaitlin Stukenholtz, Isaac & Julia Baehr, Adelyn & Jonah Meinke, Sheldon & Alaina Dicke, Henry & Clara McCormick, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carl Hoffman in 1964, 2nd husband, Carl Hall in 1982,one infant daughter: Donna Jean, two grandchildren: infant granddaughter, Lynette Siffring and grandson, Billie Siffring. Three sisters: Verna Potter, Estella Mortensen and Esther Hoffman.
