Veronica Rerucha, 99, of Bruno, died Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at David Place in David City.
Funeral Mass will be Friday, April 9, 2010 at 10:00am in St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Bruno, Nebraska with Fr. Ronald Homes officating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Viewing will be Thursday from 2-4pm at Chermok Funeral Home, David City with a 3:30pm Catholic Daughters Rosary in the chapel. Additional viewing will begin at 6pm followed by a 7pm parish rosary all at St. Anthony's Church, Bruno.
The family has asked in lieu of flowers that memorials be given for Masses or In Care of the Family.
Veronica C. Rerucha was born on August 1, 1910 on the farm near Valparaiso, Nebraska to Joseph and Anna(Jirovsky)Masek. She helped out with farm work while growing up and eventually moved to Lincoln and worked in the meat department of the Ideal Grocery Store on North 27th street.
She married Frank Rerucha on September 20, 1949 at St. Mary's Church in Valparaiso and moved to Butler County to work along side her husband on the farm.
Veronica loved to work in her garden, raising flowers, and was also considered the top baker of kolache in the area. She enjoyed being with family, sewing, canning and most of all making sure those around her never went without. She had a giving spirit that was known by all who ever associated with her.
She is survived by her daughter; Marjorie Rerucha and her fiance, David Casipit of Antioch, CA, one brother: Leonard(Bonnie)Masek of Valparaiso, NE; two sisters: Elizabeth(Glen)Gates of Prague, NE; and Genevieve Kobza of Valparaiso, NE one brother-in-law: John Rerucha of David City and two sisters-in-law: Dolores Roh of Schuyler and Rose Masek of Seward. Many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank in 1976, four sisters, two in infancy and Anna Masek and Antonia Kobza; three brothers, Frank(infant), Joseph C. and Harry Masek.
