Verland Bauer

Verland O Bauer, 85, of Rising City, died Friday, May 16, 2008 at David Place.
Services will be at 10:30 am Monday, May 19, 2008 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Rising City. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Sunday, May 18, 2008 at the Chermok Funeral Home in David City, followed by a 7 pm prayer service also at the funeral home. Visitation will continue Monday one hour before the funeral service at the church.
Memorials are suggested in care of the family.
V.O. was born November 13, 1922 in Rising City to Oscar and Etta (Aden)Bauer. He graduated from Rising City High School. On September 19, 1946 V.O. married Connie Dunn at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rising City. He farmed and worked at the Farmers Co-op for 20 years. V.O. was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, where he served as a trustee and taught Sunday School. He was also a member of the School Board and the Saddle Club.
He is survived by his wife, Connie, sons: Kirk (Barbara) Bauer of Malcolm; Scot (Cindy)Bauer of Surprise; Daughter Nan (Leo) Sims of Cozad; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister: Florinda Kopke.
