Twila L. Petrzilka, 83, of Seward, formerly of Brainard, widow of Ernest, died Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Ridgewood Rehab and Care Center in Seward.

Cremation will take place per Twila's wishes with a memorial service at a later date.
Twila was born on April 7, 1938 at Lexington, Nebraska to Orland and Violet (Kuehl)Dickhute. She graduated from Brainard High School in 1956. She went to work at Russell Stover Candies in Lincoln for a few years, where she used to bring home candy for the family. She joined the Catholic Church in 1955. Twila married Ernie Petrzilka on August 20, 1960 at Holy Trinity Church. She later went to work for the Postal Service, becoming Post Mistress and serving the Brainard area for over 20 years until her retirement. She also shared all the farm responsibilities with Ernie until his death in 2014.
Twila enjoyed all things sports related. She loved her baseball, especially the Dodgers and Royals. She liked to embroider and loved spending time with her beloved dog, Mindy. She was a member of Holy Trinity Church, the PCCW and a 50 year member of the Rejda American Legion Auxiliary.
Twila is survived by her son, Anthony(Chris) Valenti, 3 grandchildren: Dustin Valenti, Jesse(Danielle)Valenti and Andrew(Lynsey)Valenti. 6 Great-grandchildren: Maci, Quinn, Emery, Jaxon, Regyn and Tess Valenti and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ernie, one sister, Dorothea Swartz, five brothers, Gerald, Duane, Donald, Norman and Charles Dickhute.
