Tillie Gall

Tillie was born October 13, 1918 in Cuming County to Joseph and Rose (Vondruska) Coufal. She attended rural District 60 in Cuming County. On January 31, 1939 Tillie married Fred Gall St. John’s Catholic Church in Howells and they farmed north west of Howells until 1974 when they moved into Howells. Tillie was an aide at Howells High School through the Green Thumb Program for many years. She was a member of the Christian Mothers and cleaned the church for a number of years. Tillie loved spending time with her family, baking, embroidering, doing needlework, playing Bingo and enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino. Tillie died January 7th, at the age of 94, at Golden Living Center in Clarkson where she had been a resident the last four years. Tillie is survived by her five children; Edwin (Julie) Gall of Creston, Elaine (Ken) Kluthe of Clarkson, Janet (Dave) Eurek of Howells, Larry (Mary) Gall of Howells and Phyllis (Richard) Bergland of Columbus; 17 grandchildren;35 great grandchildren;1 great great grandson; brother, Richard (Evelyn) Coufal of Howells; sister-in-law, Gladys Coufal of Howells. She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred (11/1/1975); great grandson Samson Eurek; brothers, Millard and Leonard Coufal; infant sister, Mayme Coufal. Funeral lunch will be served at St. John's School following the burial in the church cemetery.
