Thelma Hoffman Siffring, 92, of David City, formerly of Rising City, died Tuesday May 29, 2007 at David Place in David City. Thelma was born June 10, 1914 in David City to Ernest W. and Bertha (Cole) Lott. She graduated from Shelby High School in 1932. Thelma married Edmund Hoffman on November 16, 1936 and after his death married Chris Siffring on September 23, 1971. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday June 1, 2007 at First English Lutheran Church in Rising City. Visitation will be from 5 - 8 p.m Thursday, May 31, at Chermok Funeral Home in David City. Thelma is survived by a daughter, Rogene (Robert) McMeekin, of Shelby, daughter-in-law: Mary Ann Hoffman, of Rising City, stepsons: Gary (DeEtte) Siffring of Rising city, Marvin (Kay) Siffring of Rising City, stepdaughter: Joann (Ron) Berglund, of Syracuse, KS; 4 grandchildren: Donna (Cal) Vrbka, of Shelby, Ron (Julie) Hoffman of Rising City, Ken (Linda) McMeekin, of Columbus, Ryan (Adri) McMeekin of Aurora, CO; 7 step grandchildren: Amy Siffring of Lincoln, Kevin (Rachel) Siffring of Rising City, Jessie (Sandra) Siffring of Columbus, Billie Siffring of Rising City, Jason (Gretchen) Siffring of Chicago, IL, Travis Siffring of Chicago, IL, Brian Berglund, of Syracuse, KS.; and 10 great grandchildren. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, son, Merlyn Hoffman, brother, Max Lott, sister Maxine Jaenike, and grandchildren Tyler Berglund and Lynette Siffring.
