Steve M. Riha, 51, of David City, died Friday, March 26, 2010 at BryanLGH East in Lincoln.
Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at 10:00am in St. Mary's Church with Fr. Bernard Kimminau officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Viewing will be Tuesday, from 4-7pm at St. Mary's Church followed by a 7pm Wake/Parish Rosary also at the church. Additional viewing will be on Wednesday, one hr before services at the church.
The family has requested in lieu of flowers, memorials be given towards Mass Intentions or In Care of the Family.
Steven M. Riha was born on March 18, 1959 at David City, Nebraska to Eugene and Regina(Vrbka)Riha.
He graduated from Aquinas High School in 1978. He worked at the Schuyler Packing Plant for 10 years and he also farmed. Farming was his life's work. He farmed with his brother Dan most of his adult life.
Steve's other hobbies included watching the stock market daily and knowing what prices grain, gold, and silver were at each day. He also enjoyed being with family and socializing at Northside or Stop-Inn. He would occasionally enjoy a trip to the horseraces when time permitted. He also spent time playing cards at the senior center in David City.
Steve is survived by his mother: Regina(Marvin)Skala of Crete, his siblings: Larry Riha of David City, Connie(Tim)Novicki of Columbus, Michael Riha and Daniel Riha both of David City, Randy(Roxene)Riha of Columbus, Janie(Cliff)Ziemba and Dale Riha both of Columbus. Several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene in 1994 and his grandparents: John and Agnes Vrbka and Anton and Matilda Riha.
