Scott M. Gabel, 48, of David City passed away on the family farm due to malignant brain tumor on May 26, 2020 with his mother at his side.
Scott's wishes were to be cremated and a private family funeral and burial will be held. A public Celebration of Life will be held at a later date when COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.
Memorials, IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, may be given In Care of the Family.
Scott Michael Gabel was born on November 22, 1971 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Michael and Ila(Svoboda)Gabel. After high school graduation, Scott went on to three years of college for Engineering, but took time off to care for his mother who had become ill. Scott was a person who loved life. He treasured being on the family farm with his animals. He loved his black lab dogs and Alpaca pets. He also enjoyed cars, trucks, going to the dunes and the rails.
He also enjoyed boating, cooking, reading and all types of music.
Scott had a strong sense of design and color. He would craft beautiful cutting boards and could build many things working with woods and metals. He was a person who loved life and family and had a wonderful sense of humor.
Scott is survived by his mother, Ila Gabel of Lincoln, father and step-mother, Michael and Leah Gabel of Akron, OH, Grandfather, Rudy Svoboda of David City, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
He was preceded in death by is grandmother, Marcy Svoboda and grandparents, Alfred and Magdalen Gabel.
