Sally M. Schmid, 90, of Wahoo, formerly of Valparaiso, died Friday, October 17, 2014 at South Haven Living Center in Wahoo.

Sally(Janak)Schmid, 90, of Valparaiso, passed away Friday, October 17, 2014 at South Haven in Wahoo surrounded by family members. Sally was born on May 1, 1924 to Robert and Agnes(Andel)Janak in David City. She lived in the Butler County area all of her life. Sally spent many years working on the farm and at the Butler County Hospital. On November 20, 1945, Sally married George Schmid at Assumption Catholic Church in Appleton. Sally was a member of Assumption Catholic Church, Dwight and volunteered for years with the Butler County Blood Mobile. She also volunteered at the Dwight Community Library and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed polka dances with her husband and playing cards with her friends.
Sally is survived by her sons: Larry(Marian)Schmid of Hickman, David(Renee)Schmid of Valparaiso, and daughter: Judy(Jerry)Potter of Valparaiso. She was fond of her nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Sally was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George in 2010, one son, Gary and one sister, Gladys.
