Rudy R. Rejda, 75, of Endicott, NY peacefully passed away May 12, 2010 at Lourdes Hospital, Binghamton, NY with his children at his side. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 41 years, Martha (Trojan) and his parents, Rudolph and Henrietta (Raus).
With gentle patience and understanding, he guided his children to reach their hopes and dreams. Dr. Joan Rejda-Heath and H. Russell Heath III, St. Louis, MO, Ronald and Mary Rejda, Frisco, TX, and Kathleen and Karl Lavo, Endicott cherish many fond memories of their remarkable father. He was dedicated to his grandchildren Kristin Lavo and fiancé Alex Dilello, Bloomfield, NJ, Lauren Lavo, Endicott, NY, H. Russell Heath IV, St. Louis, MO, and Nicholas and Madeline Rejda, Frisco, TX. Rudy is survived by his brother and spouse, Roger and Yuko Reyda, Brainard, NE; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Donald and Margaret Dolezal, Brainard, NE; sister-in-law, Lucille Trojan, Dwight, NE; several nieces and nephews and their families; and many close neighbors and friends.
A 1952 graduate of East Butler High School in Brainard, NE, he lived in Lincoln, NE until 1963 when he transferred with IBM to Endicott. He worked for IBM until his retirement. He was an active member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish participating in the Soup Kitchen and acting as the parish representative for the Diocese of Syracuse Disability Committee, a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club, a coach in West Corners Little League and actively involved in supporting the activities of his children and grandchildren. Rudy was an avid flower and vegetable gardener, enjoyed fishing and woodworking and was fascinated with electronics.
Visitation is from 5-7 pm on Friday, May 28 at Holesovsky Mortuary in Brainard. His funeral mass will be Saturday, May 29 at 3 pm preceded by rosary at 2:45pm at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Brainard. Interment will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Brainard.
