Rudolph L. Rezac, 96, of David City, died Thursday, January 10, 2013 at St. Joseph's Villa in David City.
Funeral Mass will be 10:00am Saturday, January 12, 2013 at St. Mary's Church, David City with Fr. Bernard Kimminau as celebrant. Burial will be in the Appleton Catholic Cemetery, rural David City. Viewing will be Saturday, from 9-9:30am followed by a 9:30am rosary all at the church.

Rudolph L. Rezac was born on May 1, 1916 near Appleton, Nebraska to John and Anna(Shorney)Rezac. He was baptized and confirmed in the Church of the Assumption, Appleton. He served as an altar server, parish trustee, cemetery board member and helped establish the perpetual care program for the church cemetery.
Rudy attended school at District 19 School near Appleton. He spent most of his adult life as a farmer in Butler County. He retired from farming in 1978 and moved to David City. After retirement, he worked for seven years as a Crop Loss Adjuster and he was also an ASCS committee member in Butler County.
Rudy married Mildred Hanel on April 18, 1985. Following their marriage, they moved to a farm near Stanton and then in 1989 moved to Norfolk. As their health allowed, they enjoyed traveling in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Mildred passed away in 2004. Rudy returned to David City in 2011.
Rudy is survived by his nieces: Martha Wachal, Roseann(Verlyn)Kracl, and Lucille Rerucha. Nieces-in-law: Dorothy Rezac, Nancy Rezac, and Irene Rezac and many great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mildred, 3 brothers: Ed(Olive), Fred(Mary) Adolph(Agnes)Rezac, and Louis Rezac; three sisters: Mary, Helen,and Ella(Bernard)Brocktrup. three nephews:Dennis, Richard and Laddie Rezac.
