Rosella Weddle

Rosella "Rosie" Weddle, 72, of David City died Monday, December 14, 2015 at the Butler County Health Care Center in David City.

Rosie was born on October 24, 1943 at Falls City, Nebraska to Charles and Rosamond(Johnson)Portrey. She married Donald Weddle and six children were born to this union. Rosie was a big Elvis fan and enjoyed baseball. She grew up following the St. Louis Cardinals and Stan Musial, and later became a loyal Kansas City Royals Fan. Rosie also enjoyed Husker Volleyball. She loved to travel, with Hawaii being one of her favorite places to visit.

She was an active member of St. Mary's Church in David City, a member of the PCCW, Catholic Daughters of America, and past choir member of St. Mary's adult choir. She enjoyed helping her family and friends, usually putting their needs before her own.

Rosie is survived by her children: Maria of Lincoln, Donny(Jamie) of Salem, NE, Danny of Lincoln, Ann of Octavia, Elizabeth of Lincoln and David of Winterhaven, FL, two brothers: John(Judy)Portrey of Meridian, ID and Leon(Kathy)Portrey of Glenwood, IA, three sisters: Clara(Ralph)Stutheit of Humboldt, Barbara Shields of St. Paul, MN and Helen Fox of Denver, CO.
Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1980, one sister: Mary Moore and one brother, Lawrence Portrey.
