Rose (Kozisek) Schmit

Rose A. (Kozisek)Schmit, 98, of David City, died Saturday, May 24, 2008 at David Place in David City.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at 10:00am in St. Mary's Church, David City with Msgr. Adrian Herbek officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Bruno, Nebraska. Viewing will be from 2-5pm at Chermok Funeral Home and after 6pm at the church followed by a 7pm PCCW Rosary also at church.
Rose was born on January 5, 1910 at Bruno, Nebraska to Frank and Ann(Hlavac)Husak. She married William Kozisek in 1929 at David City and four children were born to this union. William died in 1945, leaving Rose to raise her children. She married Peter Schmit in 1961 at David City, Nebraska. He passed away in 1988. Rose was a member of St. Mary's Church and the PCCW. She was very active in the church and she also volunteered at St. Joseph's Villa.
She enjoyed playing cards, working jig saw puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed baking, gardening, listening to Czech music and dancing.
She is survived by her sons: LaVerne(Norma)Kozisek, William(Betty)Kozisek both of David City, Eugene(Claudia)Kozisek of Garden City, MO; Daughter: Maxine(Roger)Bredahl of Columbus; step-sons: Donald(Norma)Schmit of Fremont; Orville(Peggy)Schmit of Columbus and Lorene Kallenbach of Bellwood. 11 Grandchildren; 28 Great-grandchildren; 8 Great-great-grandchildren; 18 step-grandchildren; 38 step-great grandchildren; 11 step-great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by both husbands, three grandsons: Billy Kozisek; infant twins: Mark and Mike Kozisek; one granddaughter: Karen Bredahl; brother: Fritz Husak;two infant brothers; two sisters: Blanche Beckius Rohs and Tillie Stevens; one step-daughter and her husband: Dorothy and Gene Moyer; one step-son Eugene Schmit; one step-son-in-law: Dean Kallenbach and one step-grandson: Cory Kallenbach.
Memorials in lieu of flowers: Masses or In Care of the Family.
