Rose M. Hottovy, 76, of David City, passed away July 5, 2015 at david place in David City.

Rose was born October 3, 1938 at her home in Ceresco, to James and Albina(Benes) Tvrdy. She graduated from Valparaiso High School in 1955, and went on to obtain her Teaching Certificate. On January 12, 1957, she was united in marriage to Richard Hottovy at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Valparaiso. 6 children were born to this union. Rose raised their family on the farm near Dwight, where she was a homemaker.
Later, she and Richard moved to David City where she worked at David City Manufacturing, Curves, and most recently as a cook at david place. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in David City, St. Mary's PCCW, Butler County Relay for Life, and was a driving force in the establishment of the David City chapter of AA. Rose was full of energy and enjoyed all Husker and Aquinas Sports, and Royals Baseball. She loved baking, especially kolaches, exercising, and playing pitch. Rose would love to go shopping, then give items to visiting family members.
She is survived by her children: Terry Hottovy, of Centennial, CO, Lee (Janelle) Hottovy, of Tulsa, OK, Julie Kendall, of Canton, GA, Connie (Gale) Janak, of Brainard, NE, Janie (Marty) Demuth, of Hastings, NE, and son-in-law: Mike Dreher, of Grand Island, NE; brothers: Arnold (Betty Ann) Tvrdy, and Jim (Tami) Tvrdy; sister: Theresa (Les) Policky; sister-in-laws: Monica Tvrdy and Rose Klein; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.
Rose is preceded in death by her parents; husband: Richard in 1998; daughter: Sharon Dreher; brother: Edwin Tvrdy; in-laws: Adolph (Emma) Hottovy, Lucille (Francis) Eiting, Aggie (Ray) Fiala, Chuck (Loraine) Hottovy, Emil Hottovy, Ray (Marcy) Hottovy, Reynold (Dorothy) Hottovy, and Leonard Klein.
