Ron Hulsey

Ron Hulsey, 65, of Schuyler passed away Thursday, February 13 at his home.

Ronald R. Hulsey was born on July 20, 1954, in Phoenix, Arizona to Billy Ray and Bonnie (Rollins) Hulsey. He attended St. Simon and St. Jude Catholic School in Phoenix. In 1967, his family moved to Schuyler, Nebraska where he attended Schuyler Public Schools. On September 27, 1974, he married Rose Mary Scanlan, they made their home in Schuyler. Ron worked in the family owned construction business and later became the building inspector for the City of Schuyler.

Ron was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed spending as much time as he could with his grandchildren and would make excuses to visit them. He was an avid fisherman and hunter who enjoyed every fishing and hunting trip he took immensely. Ron could frequently be found tinkering around the house, at Rose’s direction.

Ron is survived by his wife of 45 years, Rose, son, Joshua (Jami) Hulsey of Columbus, daughter, Billie Jo Hulsey of Elkhorn; three grandchildren, Sophia, Logan, and Olivia; sister, Kathy (Charles) Heavican; sister-in-law Mary Peschel; and 10 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Billy Ray and Bonnie Hulsey, brother Don Hulsey and niece Karrie Healy.
