Roger was born October 1, 1933 at Sioux City, Iowa to Maurice and Florence (Jensen) Blaker. He graduated from Emerson High School in 1951 and attended Wayne State College. He served in the Army from February 1, 1954 to February 10, 1962. Roger married Judy Janda on August 18, 1972 in Schuyler and was employed by Northwestern Bell and later by U. S. West as a repair and installation technician for 34 years. He was a member of Schuyler Sertoma (Charter Member), Acacia Lodge 34, Scottish Rite and Oasis Shrine Club. He served as a Boy Scout leader, EMT with the Schuyler Rescue Squad and on the Board of Directors of the Telephone Pioneers - Three Rivers Club. Roger died May 1st at their home at the age of 78. Roger is survived by his wife, Judy; daughter, Brenda Cannon of Lincoln; granddaughters, Lauren Cannon and Carly Jo Cannon both of Lincoln; sister, Lois Black of Emerson; nephew, John Black and his family of Omaha. He is preceded in death by his parents. The funeral lunch will served at the church.
