Rodney was born July 12, 1943 on the family farm by North Bend to Rudy and Laurine (Sedlicky) Macholan. He graduated from Schuyler High School and then went on to serve with the Nebraska National Guard. On July 30, 1966 he married Angie Palensky at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Wahoo.
Rodney had a love for the great outdoors which could be seen in his passion for farming, working on the family farm, spending time at the river, fishing, hunting ducks and geese. He especially loved deer hunting and took his grandchildren hunting in order to pass that love on to them. Rodney enjoyed spending time with his family, talking with them, and attending his grandchildren’s activities. In his spare time Rodney could be found watching FOX News, running his trucking company, and in his younger years, dancing with his wife Angie.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Angie, of Linwood; sons: Gene Macholan and special friend Gwen Cooper and her daughter Christina of Schuyler, Dean and Heather Macholan and their children Ryan and Brooklyn of Howells.
Rodney is preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Richard Nelson, and niece Denise Bergloff.
