Richard F. Janak, 86, of Brainard, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2009 at St. Joseph's Villa in David City, surrounded by his family.
Funeral Services will be at 10:30 am Wednesday, April 8th at St. Francis Catholic Church in Center.
Visitation will be 4 - 6 pm Tuesday April 7 at the Holesovsky Mortuary in Brainard, followed by a Rosary at the Klein Center at 7:00 pm.
Burial will be in the Holy Trinity Cemetery in Brainard.
Richard was born September 30. 1922 in Bruno, Nebraska to Frank J. and Victoria (Stara) Janak. He married Leona Dusatko on May 10, 1948 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Brainard. Richard was a farmer, a member of Holy Trinity Church, served on the East Butler School Board, the Franklin Township Board and was involved with the Appleton Community Center.
Richard is survived by his wife Leona R. Janak, of Brainard, sons: Chris (Brenda) Janak of David City, Lyle (Kathy) Janak of Brainard, daughters: Dorean (Clayton) Kastl of Brainard and Linda Gates of David City. In addition he is survived by 10 grandchildren: Tracey Kastl-Jacobs, Todd Kastl, Mitchell Janak, Natalie Janak, Devon Janak, Joshua Gates, Justin Gates, Matthew Janak, Michael Janak, and Meagan Janak; and 3 great grandchildren: Max Jacobs, Mollie Jacobs and Kate Janak.
Memorials are suggested In Care of the Family.
