Regina Mary Hejhal was born on February 21, 1966 in San Rafael, California to Ralph and Marion (Pavel) Kampschnieder. She graduated from Benson High School and held a degree in insurance and computer sciences. For over 30 years, Regina worked as an insurance underwriter for health and auto insurance. 27 years ago, through a chance encounter with mutual friends, she met the love of her life, Shad Hejhal, and they have been inseparable ever since.
Throughout her life, Regina cherished the time spent with her husband, she enjoyed going on cruises for their birthdays, visiting places like the Caribbean, the Bahamas, and St. Thomas. Regina and Shad took regular trips to Branson to take in the excitement and even visiting the Marvel Caves and Dimes Store Days. She loved a good road-trip, even if just to pick up equipment, always creating memories along the way. Regina found joy in her projects with Shad, especially on their acreage, where she took pride in working alongside her husband on the restoration of Farmall tractors. Her adventurous side also led her to learning how to hunt, where she celebrated her first 4 point buck this last fall.
In the kitchen, Regina was as an exceptional baker and cook. She had a talent for amazing treats, from cookies to kolaches and potato dumplings; she even had a standing order of 3 loaves of pumpkin bread, every month for her friend Ken. One of her favorite things to do after a day of cooking or after work was to spend time with her Pugs: Tubby, Emma, Bella, and Beeker.
Regina’s positive outlook on life was infectious; she always looked on the bright side and touched the lives of those around her with her kindness and laughter. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her husband Shad Hejhal of Linwood, mother Marion Bukosky, siblings, Steve (Amy) Kampschnieder, Randy (Debbie) Kampschnieder, and Renee (Rich) Hartman as well as several nieces and nephews.
Regina is preceded in death by her father Ralph Kampschnieder and father-in-law Elmer Hejhal.
