Raymond J. Zima, 97, of David City died Sunday, July 1, 2012 on the family farm of natural causes.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, July 5 at 11:00am in St. Luke's United Methodist Church with Pator Mark Schutt officiating. Burial will be in the David City Cemetery. Masonic Rites by Fidelity Lodge #51 A.F. & A.M., David City.
Viewing will be Thursday, from 10-11am at the church

Ray was born on November 22, 1914 in rural Garrison to Joseph and Agnes(Divis)Zima. He lived all of his life in the Garrison and David City area and he attended District #23 school.
He married Eleanor R. Bruner on February 1, 1939 in David City. He was a farmer who enjoyed keeping a garden, huntinig, fishing, trapping and bowling. He traveled across the country to compete in trap shoot competitions, often coming away with a trophy. He loved spending time and sharing stories with family and friends.
Ray was a Master Mason with Fidelity Lodge #51 , a member of WLFA Ldoge #68 of Brainard, and of St. Luke's United Methodist Church in David City.
Survivors include his daughter, Ellen Rae Roberts of Omaha, Granddaughters: Karen Roberts, Karla Jean(Jeff)Uhlir and Kristin(Steve)Yach; 6 great-grandchildren: Nicole, Amber, Kasi, David, Kamryn, and Ethan; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 70 yrs, Eleanor in 2009, one brother and two sisters.
