Peggy Thiele, 72, of Schuyler passed away peacefully on Monday, December 25, at her home in Schuyler.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at the former Fellowship of Christ building located at 1017 Adam Street, Schuyler. Visitation will be from 10 until 10:30 a.m. at the church. Lunch and fellowship will follow the service.
Peggy Jane Boyer was born on August 12, 1951 in Hudson, South Dakota to Ledru and Ella (Hout) Boyer. Following high school, Peggy was married in Canton, South Dakota and two children were born to this union, Michelle and Jeremy. On December 18, 1982 Peggy was married to James (Jim) Thiele, they were fortunate to celebrate their 41st wedding anniversary together before Peggy’s passing.
Peggy held various jobs throughout her life like babysitting and waitressing, but she truly enjoyed her time with the sheriff’s department and especially her time working in probation in diversion program working with probation kids.
Peggy had many “adoptive” children that she had a big influence upon throughout their lives. Some of those children have remained friends, Jill and Rain Boyer, Monglony and Keyli Barrios, Sabrina Cullen, Christian Linde, and Margarita and Andrea Guerrero.
Peggy is survived by her husband Jim, daughter Michelle (Gerald) Cycon, son Jeremy Dobbe, step-granddaughter Tiffany Cycon-Reid (Alex Reid), siblings Gary (Wanda) Boyer, Lee (Caroline) Boyer, Ken (Linda) Boyer, Danny (Lorrie) Boyer, Pam Rees, and Penny (John) Golden as well as many friends, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings Gail Boyer, Bruce Boyer, Eldon Boyer, Duane Boyer, Herbert Boyer, and brother-in-law Richard Rees.
