L. Pearl Buresh, 88 of Dodge, formerly of Howells, passed away Thursday, May 5th in Dodge. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, May 10th at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Howells. Visitation will be held at the church from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Monday with a Parish Rosary at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will resume on Tuesday at 9:30 A.M. Burial will be in St. John Nepomucene Cemetery in Howells.
Pearl was born February 16, 1928 in Omaha to Raymond and Vesta (Black) Gearhart. She attended school in Bellevue. Pearl married Leonard Buresh at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bellevue on June 24, 1950 and they made their home south of Howells. Pearl was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Howells, St. Joh’s Women’s Auxillary, she was very active in Highway 81-91 Pork Producers where she did leatherwork and made banners, she was co-founder and co-leader of the Busy B’s 4-H Club. She owned and operated the Village Cleaners in Howells and she and Leonard owned and operated Creative Looming. Pearl raised ducks and geese, loved gardening and above all loved being a grandma and great grandma.
Pearl is survived by two sons: Mark and special friend Janelle Lohneyer of Dodge, Bruce and special friend Kathy Stout of South Sioux City, NE; grandchildren: Krista (Dusty) Hills, Adam (Megan) Buresh, Casey (Kayli) Buresh, Collin Buresh and Benjamin Buresh; 8 great grandchildren and sister Irene Taylor of Bellevue, NE.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leonard in 2010, son Joe, infant grandson and brothers and sisters.
