Orletha L. Hoshor, 81, of David City, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2010 at David Place in David City.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at 3:00pm at Chermok Funeral Home in David City. Burial will be in the Bellwood Cemetery. Viewing will be from 1-3pm at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given In Care of the Family.
Orletha L. Hoshor was born on February 25, 1929 on the family farm near Bellwood to Francis and Molly(Raric)Hopkins. She grew up on Hopkins Island, which at that time was a part of Platte County. She attended and graduated from the Bellwood school system.
She married John Hoshor on March 16, 1948 in Columbus. Four children were born to this union.
Orletha helped her husband on the farm as well as taking care of the household duties while the children grew to maturity. She enjoyed her pets and flowers, especially her lilacs and peonies and was an avid gardener. She also was known for her homemade bread and pies. Her favorite hobbies included spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, playing cards and taking care of her pets.
Orletha and her husband started the Farmer's Market and loved to see all the produce that would come to town.
She was a hard worker with strong values and passed those on to her family.
Surviving Orletha is her son Bill(Cindy)Hoshor of Bellwood, Daugthers: Patricia(Ardell)Lostroh of David City, Vicki(Galen)Loomis of Grand Island, and Cindy(Bryan)Benes of Norwalk, Iowa. Two sisters: Anita Nickolite and Nancy Hopkins both of Columbus. 8 Grandchildren: Colby, Jeremy and Eric Hoshor; Zach Loomis, Ginger and Candi Lostroh and Bethany and Levi Benes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John in 1997, and two brothers: Russell and Boyd Hopkins.
