Norman Dean Muller was born on March 6, 1936 in Schuyler to Engelbert (Bert) and Lorene (Ladehoff) Muller. On June 29, 1963 he married Wilma Blum in Fremont. The couple lived on a farm west of Schuyler. Throughout his life Norman worked at the local mill as a child (earning $1 an hour), he helped in the construction of the Schuyler Public Pool, and was a trained auto-mechanic. Ultimately, he was hired on at the United Egg chicken barns and was in charge of all of the building maintenance until his retirement.
In Norman’s younger years he loved hunting and fishing with several of his buddies, and later loved reminiscing over all of the fun they had. He particularly enjoyed going to gamble at the horse races and loved his trips to Las Vegas. Norman also loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his children: Norma Jean (Mike) Guy of Seward, Jeanette (Kevin) Schwartzer of Omaha, Janice (Jim) Grant of Schuyler, and Jody (Irene) Venus of Barstow California; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brother Lloyd (Lois) Muller of Fremont; and sister Delores Schmale of Fremont.
Norman is preceded in death by his parents, wife Wilma in 2007; sons John, Jim, and Jay Venus; daughter Joyce (Louie) Leide; grandchildren Michael Grant, Cassie Venus, and Lee Murray; and brother-in-law Rudy Schmale.
