Norman Behne, 79, of Brainard, died Friday, November 9, 2007 at his residence near Brainard. Visitation will be Tues., Nov. 13 from 10:00 - 2:00 followed by the funeral at 2:00 pm at Chermok Funeral Home in David City. Burial will be at the David City Cemetery. Memorials are In Care of the Family.
Norman is survived by his wife, Darlene; Sons: Nicholas of Brainard; Douglas and fiance', Andrea Coltrain both of Kansas City; Sisters: Alice Moravec, Ulysses and Delores (Jean) Kuhl of David City. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Norman was born Nov. 10, 1927 on the farm. He married Darlene Dieck on June 27, 1964 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in David City. He farmed until retiring in 1994. He enjoyed the accordion and played in the Accordion Jamboree, he also enjoyed fishing and Czech music. Norman used to sell NB Polled Herefords and lived on the farm that has been in his family for several generations.
