Naida I. Gardner, 99, of David City, formerly of Humphrey, passed away on September 16, 2017 at david place, in David City.

Naida I. Gardner was born January 19, 1918 to William and Maybelle(Peterson) Dever, in Bloomfield, Nebraska. The family later moved to Pierce, Nebraska where she graduated from high school in 1935. She married William L. Gardner on August 24, 1938 at Creighton University in Omaha, NE. During her married life, they lived in Fullerton, Norfolk and Humphrey. Naida moved to David City in 2005.

She belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary, Catholic Daughters, and Altar Society. Naida also played bridge, sang in the church choir, was on a bowling league, and loved to go dancing and to travel with William. She owned and ran a hotel in Fullerton, and worked at Nisker Shoe Store in Norfolk before moving to Humphrey. In Humphrey, she worked at Beller and Backes INC. And was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church. After moving to David City, she joined the Red Hat Club, The Friends of the Library, the PCCW and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Naida is survived by twin daughters: Beverly(Richard) Lambrecht, of David City, and Barbara(Frank) Faustino, of Beverly, MA; 5 grandchildren: Shirley(Douglas) Gruntorad, Ricky(Kimberly) Faustino, William S.(Laura) Gardner, David(Diane) Faustino, and Kenneth(Kimberly) Lambrecht; 9 great-grandchildren: Cassandra Faustino, Courtney Faustino, Matthew(Laura) Gruntorad, Morgan(Chelsea) Faustino, Grant Faustino, Margaret Gardner, William N. Gardner, Brandon Lambrecht, and Rachel Lambrecht; 7 great-great-grandchildren: Aryana J. Morales, Natalia Faustino, Luis A. Perez, Luke Gruntorad, Rose Gruntorad, and Leyal Faustino.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband: William L. Gardner; son: William D. Gardner; 2 grandchildren: Kelly Gardner and Gerald Lambrecht; brother: John Dever; sister: Mary Louise Dever; 2 half brothers: Hugh Dever and Don Dever; and 2 half sisters: Laura Black and Hazel Fisher.
