Myra Langhorst, 85, of Howells passed away Sunday, February 24, 2019 at the Parkview Home in Dodge.

The daughter of George and Genevieve (Limbach) Rupprecht was born in Howells on November 12, 1933. She graduated from the 8th grade at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic School and Howells High School in 1951. Following high school graduation Myra worked in Omaha and Lincoln.
On August 17, 1957 she and Robert H. Langhorst were married at S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church by Fr. Paul Schneider. The couple farmed south of Howells until 1993 when they retired to Howells.
Myra has been employed at The Howells Journal since 1978 until the present time, a job she thoroughly enjoyed. She was employed at Parkview Home in Dodge, School District 59 and Howells-Dodge Consolidated School. She retired in 2015 after being employed in the school for 15 years in the custodial department.
Myra was a lifetime member of S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, its Christian Mothers, American Legion Unit 155, being a member for over 50 years and serving as a past treasurer and present chaplain. She was also a board member of the Howells Historical Museum.
She enjoyed her flower garden, bird watching, all sports, and was a collector of many items. Myra enjoyed attending the sports and school activities of her grandchildren and was a big fan of the Cornhuskers, Bobcats, and Jaguars, attending countless games in her lifetime.
Myra was very proud to call Howells her hometown!
Survivors include her children: Gail (Dennis) Bazata of Randolph, NE, Dan Langhorst of Chandler, AZ, Judy (Derek) Andersen of Lincoln, NE, Tom Langhorst and Betty Wiedeman of Howells, and Nancy (Dale) Wolfgram of Lincoln, NE, Grandchildren: Bryan (Claire) Bazata of Cozard, NE, Erin (Heath) Anderson of Sheldon, IA, and Ellie and Olivia Wolfgram of Lincoln, NE. Great-grandchildren: Max, Gabe, and Luke Bazata of Cozad; Kellen and Genevieve Anderson of Sheldon, IA. Brother Daniel (Phyllis) Rupprecht; brothers-in-law Ron Schmidt and Larry (Pat) Langhorst. Sisters-in-law Ann Rupprecht, Shirley Langhorst, Mary Langhorst and numerous nieces and nephews.
Myra was preceded in death by her parents, husband; brother Dennis Rupprecht and sister Phyllis Schmidt.
