Milton Smaus, 89, of Bruno, passed away December 28, 2015 at St. Joseph's Villa in David City.

Milton C. Smaus was born November 2, 1926 to Joseph F. and Emma(Cernohlavek) Smaus, on the farm in Bruno. He married Eunice M. Dolezal on September 8th 1953 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Bellwood. They celebrated 63 years together.
Milton was a lifelong resident of rural Bruno, where he was a farmer and cattle feeder. He enjoyed football and baseball. Milton was a big Husker fan, and avid reader, and liked Westerns. He was a member of the Brainard Legion, District 19 Saunders County School Board, and St. Anthony's Church Board. He was also the Brainard Elevator Director for 10 years.
Milton is survived by his wife: Eunice; children: Jim(Kathy) Smaus, of Prague, Tom(Karen) Smaus, of Bruno, and Nancy(Thomas Williams Jr.) Marshall, of New Bern, NC; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Emma Smaus; brothers: Roman(Agnes) Smaus, Joe(Rosalie) Smaus; sister: Molly(Pat) Patton; and grandson: Jacob(Jake) Smaus.
