Miles J. Andel, 80, of David City, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2013 at the Butler County Health Care Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at 10AM at Appleton Assumption Parish with Father Bernard Kimminau officiating. Viewing will be Monday from 5 until 7 at the church in Appleton followed by a 7PM Knights of Columbus Rosary. Viewing will resume one hour before mass on Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in the Appleton Cemetery.

Miles was born May 28, 1933 to Joseph and Anna(Sedlacek) Andel on their farm near Bruno. He went to grade school in Appleton, then graduated from David City High School in 1951. After high school Miles joined the Army and was stationed in Germany. On May 29, 1965, Miles and Arlene Kozisek were united in marriage at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Brainard.
He loved farming and raising pigs and cattle. Miles especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a man of faith. He was very active in the Appleton Assumption Parish. Miles was on the Cemetery Board, the Parish Council, he was an acolyte, commentator, lector, and a 4th Degree Knight.
Miles is survived by his wife: Arlene Andel; Daughters: Karen (Michael) Ostry of Bruno, Candace Schaefer of Bellwood, and Carmen (Chad) Podolak of Columbus; Son: Kevin (Michelle) Andel; Sister: Betty Meysenburg; Sister-in-law: Mary Andel; 18 grandchildren: Matthew, Louis, Cecilia, Angelica, Maria, Helena, Anthony, Gerard, Lydia, Gabriella, and Carl Ostry; Trenton Schaefer; Brooke, Collin and Jaelyn Podolak; Dylan, Clarice, and Kaylee Andel.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Brothers: Willam A. Andel, Ernest Andel; siser-in-law: Arlene E. Andel; and brother-in-law: Jerome Meysenburg.
