Mildred E. Dostal

Mildred was born February 5, 1922 near Howells to Herman and Julia (Vogel) Hegemann and received her education in a Colfax County rural school. Mildred and Lumir Dostal were married on November 23, 1943 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Howells and farmed in the Howells area until Lumirs’ death May 12, 1990. Mildred moved in to Howells in April of 1991 and lived there until January of 2008 when she moved to the Mable Rose Estates Care Center. Mildred enjoyed quilting, cooking and baking for her family, gardening and working. She was active in St. John’s Catholic Church and belonged to the Altar Society, the Birthday Club and the Jolly Fourteen Club. Mildred died March 7, 2013 at Mable Rose Estates in Papillion. Mildred is survived by two sons, Lyle (Elizabeth) Dostal of Omaha and Alan (Carol) Dostal of Columbus; one daughter, Veronica Dostal and her partner, Mary Tomish of Detroit, MI; four grandchildren, Alicia (Drew) Pfeifer, Matthew Dostal, Jonathan (Carrie) Dostal and Nicholas (Leslie) Dostal and their son Jonathan Michael Dostal; one brother, Delvin (Marlene) Hegemann of Howells. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lumir; one infant sister; one infant brother. Funeral lunch will be served at St. John's School following the burial in the parish cemetery.
