Mildred B. Wright, 81, David City, widow of Bud, died Friday, October 3, 2008 at her residence.
Funeral Services will be Monday, October 6, 2008 at 10:30am in St. Luke's United Methodsit Church, David City with Pastor Mark Schutt officiating. Burial will be in the David City Cemetery. At Mildred's request there will be no viewing or visitation.
Mildred was born on September 3, 1927 to Frank and Rose(Kovar)Samek on the farm near Appleton, Nebraska. She married Richard Blei and two children were born to this union. After Richard's death, she married Merlyn "Bud" Wright and they continued to live in the David City area.
Mildred held several jobs during her lifetime. She was a nanny, and worked at the Telephone Company as a telephone operator. She was a cook in the old Perkins Hotel as well as in the hospital and at the David City Elementary School. She also worked as a donut maker at the bakery in David City. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, baking, Czech Music, her daily soap opera's, spending time with family, embroidery, her special treats of of chocolate and cashews. She loved to travel, especially taking her Hawaiian vacations.
She is survived by her sons: Bob(Neta) Wright of David City; Doug(Vicky)of Tampa, FL; Tom Wright of California. Daughters: Linda Dietrich of Columbus; Cindy(Dave)McMeekin of Apple Valley, MN; Carol(Don)Seiler of Columbus and Sue(Paul)Hottovy of Lincoln. One brother: Wilfred(Elaine)Samek of Rising City; one sister: Betty(Bill)Marushak of Abie. 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
She is prededed in death by her parents, both husbands, one daughter: Lori Blei and daughter-in-law: Carol Wright.
