Mildred A. Juranek, 94, of Linwood, died Friday, June 24, 2016 at David Place in David City.
Mildred was born on August 26, 1921 to Joseph and Emma(Vavricek)Cech on the farm near Schuyler. She attended local grade school and went on to graduate from Schuyler High School in 1939. She married Leo E. Juranek Sr. on December 27, 1939 at Holy Trinity Church, Heun and three children were born to this union.
Mildred was a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and St. Mary's Altar Society of Linwood and a current member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and altar society in Abie.
She was also a long time member of the Linwood Community Extension Club and a leader of 4-H groups in her area.
She enjoyed quilting, gardening, sewing, canning and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren
Mildred is survived by her sons, Leo(Mary)Juranek and Robert(Dorothy)Juranek, both of Linwood,daughter, Joyce(John)Gardner of Omaha, 13 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leo in 2003, and two brothers: Edward and Frank Cech.
