Mildred B. Chubb, 85, of David City, died Sunday, February 17, 2008 at St. Joseph's Villa, David City.
Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 10:00am in St. Mary's Church, David City with Msgr. Adrian Herbek officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tues: from 2-5pm at Chermok Funeral Home; with family greeting friends from 6-7pm at the church. A PCCW rosary will be held at 7PM also at the church.
Mildred was born on November 2, 1922 to Anton and Stacie(Sabata) Svoboda on the farm near David City. On May 6, 1940 she married Glen Chubb at Assumption Catholic Church, Appleton, Nebraska. She was a current member of St. Mary's Church, David City and St. Mary's PCCW, as well as a past member of the Fireman's Womens Auxilary. She had a lifelong love of baking, gardening, traveling, sewing, and canning. Her family was very important to her as was her strong Catholic faith and her involvement in the church.
Survivors include son: Larry(Pam) Chubb of Plattsmouth, Daughters: Shelly(Ralph)Garrison of David City; Connie Sievert and Rod Fedde of Gretna; Donna(Curt)Stanley of Valley. 6 brothers: Louis(Agnes)Svoboda; Rudy(Marcy)Svoboda;Cyril(Irene)Svoboda;Dennis Svoboda;Valerian(Joan)Svoboda and Emil Svoboda all of David City; 3 Sisters: Martha Fiala; Rose Jakub; and Elsie Ponec all of David City. one sister-in-law: Margie Svoboda of Bruno. 17 Grandchildren and 12 Great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
