Michael "Mac" Divis, 68, of Schuyler passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at The Ambassador in Lincoln of ALS. Michael was born October 30, 1942 in Columbus to Joseph R. and Elizabeth (Koci)Divis. He grew up on a farm northeast of Schuyler and graduated from Schuyler High School in 1960. He entered the U.S. Army in 1964 and served in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1967. Following his military service, he farmed and worked for Camaco Columbus Manufacturing as a welder and in maintenance for over 41 years. Michael was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. He enjoyed going to work, auctions, polka music, gardening and being with his family. Survivors include five sisters, Joanne Miller of Grand Island, Betty (Roger) Eilers of Grand Island, Marie Codr of Columbus, Geri Lanc of Rising City, and Jean (Michael) Nahorny of Columbus; two brothers, Milo (Darlene) Divis of Rogers and Martin (Theresa) Divis of Clarkson. Also surviving are nine nieces and nephews, eleven great nieces and thirteen great nephews, along with numerous cousins and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, a niece Tina Codr and brothers-in-law Gene Lanc, Don Codr and Ronald Miller. Memorials are suggested to St. Mary's Catholic Church, The Ambassador or the ALS Foundation.
