Maynard D. Glock, 90, of Rising City passed away January 1, 2013 at his home.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 5 at 11:00am at First Lutheran Church, Rising City with Ron Lau, PMA officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with military honors by Kregger Legion Post 125/VFW Post 5814 of David City.
Viewing will be Friday, from 5-7pm at Chermok Funeral Home and Saturday, from 10-11am at the church.

Maynard D. Glock was born on October 19, 1922 at David City, Nebraska to Edwin and Anna(Brandt)Glock. He attended rural schools and graduated from Rising City High School. He entered the Army and fought during WWII. He was part of the D-Day invasion group and fought at Normandy, Battle of the Bulge.
Maynard married Elietta Boudart on October 25, 1945 at LaLouviere, Belgium and after his military service came back to farming near Rising City. He loved being outdoors and enjoying nature but he also enjoyed sitting and talking with his coffee group at the Garrison Elevator. He traveled and visited all the lower 48 states, Canada and Mexico.
Maynard was very involved in his families activities, making sure to go to each event when possible. He also loved to hunt, fish, dance and listen to his polka music and was a big St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Surviving are his son, Lynn(Susan)Glock of Bismarck, ND; daughter: Carmen(Kenneth)McKillip of Lincoln, 5 Grandchildren: Shawn(Paula)McKillip, Tasha(Ben)Wright, Dawson Glock, Anna Glock, and Megan Glock, and two great-grandchilren: Austin and Aiden McKillip.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Elietta in 2004, his daughter: Claudine in 2005, two sisters, Phyllis Walls and Doris Henle.
