Maxinea was born April 23, 1923 at Mason City, Nebraska to Oliver and Lucy (Craven) Ellis. The family moved to Schuyler and Maxinea received her education in the Schuyler school system, graduating in 1942 from Schuyler High School. She and Edward Loran Beckius were married in David City on November 2, 1942 and farmed in Butler County before moving to Schuyler in 1961. Maxinea was a hard worker and worked many jobs including sales clerk at Otradovsky Grocery Store, Schuyler Packing Plant, salesperson for Fuller Brush Company and delivered the Columbus Telegram and Omaha World Herald. She baby sat her grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved every minute of it. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, car races and animals of all kinds. Maxiena had been a resident of Golden Living Center in Columbus for about one year and she died September 8th at the Butler County Hospital at the age of 89. Maxinea is survived by her daughter, Judi Hein of David City; 8 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Loran ( August 16, 1974); son, Ronald (December 29, 2009); infant brother, Erwin Ellis; half sister, Lesta McAlpine Westmore. Family suggest memorials to Family Wishes. Funeral lunch will be served at St. Augustine's Parish Hall immediately after the mass. Burial will be in the St. Peter and Mary Catholic Cemetery at Bellwood at 10 AM on Saturday, September 15th.
