Maureen Lnenicka, 71, died Thursday, April 7, 2011 at her residence. Memorial Services will be on Monday April 11, 2011 at 2:00 PM at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in David City with Rev. Mark Schutt officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date. There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to the David City Library, Hospice of Tabitha or the American Lung Association.
Maureen Ann (McElravy) Lnenicka was born August 18, 1939 to Edward and Anna (Hayhurst) McElravy at David City. She attended District #9 Elementary School and graduated from David City High in 1957. She married Marvin C. Lnenicka on August 10, 1958 at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in David City; they were married for over 52 years.
Maureen worked professionally as a secretary for Kohn Brothers Food Brokerage in Millard and the Lower Platte North NRD in David City. She retired from the Federal US Government while working for the Natural Resources Conservation Services and National Survey Lab in Lincoln as a Purchasing Agent. Maureen taught Sunday school and vacation Bible School. While living in Lincoln and Millard she was a Blue Bird Leader as well as a Girl Scout Leader and also served with the League of Women Voters. In David City she was a girls' softball coach and Past Guardian of Job's Daughters for Bethel #51.
Maureen leaves a wonderful family which includes her husband Marvin; daughters Cheryl Boudreaux of Atlanta, GA, and Lora Bell of Martell, NE; five grandchildren, Jeffery and Tony Boudreaux and Seth, Nicole and Samantha Bell; three great-grandchildren, Grace, Faith and Adriana; two brothers, Melvin "Bud" (Beverly) McElravy of Visalia, CA and Dennis (Marilyn) McElravy of Crete, NE and one sister Peggy Brandenburgh of San Diego, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents Ed and Anna McElravy.
