Mary Ann Hamata

Mary Ann was born August 12, 1948 in Schuyler to Joseph L. and Bernice (Malzahn) Misek. She graduated from Schuyler High School in 1966. On November 1, 1969 she and Howard Hamata were married at the First Presbyterian Church. Mary Ann was very active in all areas of the church and was currently serving on the Session and as an Elder. She also was a member of the choir and worked with the Bible School and was active with missions work and working at Camp Calvin Crest. Mary Ann had been a Girl Scout leader and was involved in Scouting for many years and was a nanny for several local families over the years. She was a tireless volunteer and was always a willing worker and friend to those in need. Mary Ann died January 4th,at the age of 62,at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha from complications from a heart attack on January 1st. Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Howard of Schuyler; son, Ben Hamata of Schuyler; daughter Becky Hamata of Ralston; sister, Georgia Kozisek of Omaha; brothers, Joseph A. "Sonny" (Bette) Misek of Columbus and Robert (Ellen) Misek of Marquette, NE. She is preceded in death by her parents. Family suggest memorial to Family Choice. Funeral lunch will be served in the Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall.
