Maryann Faltys

Funeral Service Maryann Faltys, age 82 of Schuyler, will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at the First Presbyterian Church in Schuyler. Visitation will be held on Friday from 3 PM to 7 PM at the Svoboda Funeral Home North Chapel and on Saturday starting at 9:30 AM at the church. Burial will be in the Schuyler Cemetery.
Maryann was born May 1, 1934 in Colfax County to Martin and Mary (Pokorny) Sloup. She attended School District 34 in Colfax County. On May 1, 1951 Maryann and Amos Faltys were joined in holy matrimony at the New Zion Presbyterian Church in Clarkson. They farmed north of Richland until moving to Schuyler in 1972. Maryann did housework for many Schuyler and Columbus residents, loved to work in her flower garden, embroider, play cards, attend auctions where she could add to her collection of dolls and colored glassware and work on puzzles with Amos. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Schuyler. Maryann died July 19, 2016 at Brookestone Acres in Columbus where she had been a resident for the last two weeks.
Maryann is survived by her husband of 65 years, Amos; three daughters, Marjorie Hernandez of Columbus, Shirley (Dave) Valish and Denise (Scott) Dubsky both of Schuyler; one son, Randy Faltys of Kearney; 10 grandchildren: 5 great grandchildren; one sister, Gladys Barr of Schuyler.
She is preceded in death by her parents, infant daughter, Bonnie Jo Faltys; granddaughter, Sally Ann Cech; sister, Arlene Fichtl.

Funeral lunch will be served at the church fellowship hall following the committal service.
