Mary L. Pospichal, widow of George, 101, of David City, formerly of Bruno, died Monday, November 13, 2017 at David Place in David City.
Memorials: In Care of the Family
Mary was born on March 8, 1916, Ulysses, NE to Anton and Mary (Wiskocil) Miratsky.
She attended school in Butler County and at David City High School.
She moved to Omaha for employment as a Mother’s Helper and Nanny, until her marriage to George A. Pospichal on April 23, 1940, at St. Mary’s Church in David City, NE.
They began their life together on the farm by Bruno. As with all farming families, they worked as a team raising their children, crops, cattle, poultry, and gardening. She was the gal that brought dinner, lunch, snacks, beverages, and ran to town for parts. She spent time volunteering with School Dist. 86 as a room mother, PTA, active in St. Anthony’s Altar Society, parish festivals, and small church life. She was a caregiver, not only to her extended family, but at the David City Hospital. She took pride in her flower and vegetable gardens both in Bruno, and when they retired to David City in 1997. But most of all, her family was her life.
Mary is survived by her daughters: Kathleen (Jon) Green of St. Louis, MO and Patricia Enevoldsen of Lincoln, NE, her sister Gladys Birkel of Bellevue and numerous nieces and nephews.
