A 10:30 A.M. Funeral Mass for Mary Jane Miller, age 61, of Omaha, will be celebrated on Saturday, September 27th at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at Heun. Visitation will be held at the Svoboda Funeral Home North Chapel in Schuyler on Friday from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. followed by a 7 P.M. parish rosary. Visitation on Saturday will begin at 9:30 A.M. at the church. Burial will be in the Heun Cemetery.
Mary was born May 20, 1953, in Columbus to James S. and Marie (Polodna) Cech. She graduated from Clarkson High School in 1971 and then received her Dietary Science Degree from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, graduating with honors. Mary was employed at Bergan Mercy Medical Center as a dietician, then worked as a pharmaceutical salesperson for Ross Labratories in Denver. Other sales positions took her to Los Angeles, Seattle, Florida, and back to Denver. She has lived in Omaha since 2010. Mary was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Parish in Omaha. She loved traveling the nation and the world, scrapbooking, music, reading, and spending time with her niece, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephew. Angel Marie, Mary’s cat, was her constant companion. Mary died September 23, 2014, at Pierce Manor in Pierce, NE, where she had been a resident for about 2 weeks.
Mary is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Linda (Ken) Jensen-Hamsa of Norfolk, niece, and nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephew.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
