Mary Lou Coufal, 77, of David City died Monday, August 14, 2017 at the Butler County Health Care Center in David City.
Per Mary Lou's wish, cremation has taken place. There will be no funeral services and a private family burial will take place at a later date.
Mary Lou was born on April 24, 1940 in David City to Howard and Georgia(Novak)Helgoth. She worked as a Nurse's Aide in both the old and new David City Hospitals and also in Home Health Care until her retirement.
On September 14, 1960, she married Ted Coufal at St. Francis(Center) Catholic Church. Three children were born to this union. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, listening to Polka Music, watching and feeding the birds and squirrels at her home.
Mary Lou is survived by her husband, Ted, children: Denise(Rod)Hoeft of David City, Kevin(Gloria) Coufal of Lisbon, ND, and Kim(Fred) Foltz of Garland, 4 brothers: Gerald Helgoth of Davey, Jerome Helgoth of Grand Island, Bernie(Tami)Helgoth of Bruno, and Ron Helgoth of David City, Sister: Rose(Buzz) Jelinek of Bee, NE, 8 grandchildren: Aaron(Anna)Hoeft, Derek(Crissa)Hoeft, Ashley Hoeft, Elizabeth(Matt)Metzen, Danae Erikson, Kevin M.(Sarah) Coufal, Bailey and Hunter Foltz. 15 Great-grandchildren.
