Mary Kost, 87, formerly of Brainard, passed away Saturday, October 25, 2014 at Heartland Park, in Seward.
Mary was born July 16, 1927 to Wallace and Sara(Jones) Goodell, in Judson, Minnesota. She grew up in Minnesota. She met Harley Kost in South Dakota, where they were married on July 11, 1948. They lived in South Dakota until moving to Brainard in the early 1960's. Their marriage was blessed with six children.
During WWII, Mary worked alongside the women of America as a "Rosie the Riveter" doing her part in the war. She was employed with Hughes Brothers for 17 years. Mary enjoyed reading, going camping and fishing.
She is survived by her husband, Harley; children: Fred Kost, of Lincoln, Chuck (MaryKaye) Kost, of Lincoln, Sally Tesina, of Dwight, Dan Kost, of Brainard, Kathy (Dwayne) Pelan, of Brainard, and Don (Deb) Kost, of Brainard; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents 1 sister; 4 brothers; and 2 grandchildren.
