Mary Ann Meysenburg, 79, of London, England died Monday August 3, 2015.
Mary Ann Meysenburg, aged 79, died on August 3 at the Denver Hospice in Denver, Colorado after a two-year struggle with cancer.
Born on April 9, 1936, in David City, Nebraska, she was the daughter of Alfred and Grace Meysenburg.
She attended St. Mary’s Grade School and David City High School and graduated from Wood River High School in 1953.
She worked at Peter Kiewit Sons, Inc. and N.P.Dodge Company before joining the US Diplomatic Service in August 1965. Her first appointment was to Brussels as Secretary to the Ambassador; followed by postings to Paris, Bogota, Santo Domingo, Washington DC, Merida (Mexico), Mexico City, the Senior Seminar and London (UK). She finished her career in April 1991 as Consul General, Guadalajara (Mexico).
She then lived in Florida for nine years before settling in London. She very much enjoyed travel, family and friendships from around the world.
Survivors include brother and sister-in-law Bill (Mariel) Meysenburg; her companion of over 40 years Jenefer Thomas; nieces Kristin (Matt) Petty and Kara Connolly; and grand nieces, Lauren and Paige Petty, and Grace and Ella Connolly.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Larry.
