Marlene L. Palik, 80, of David City, passed away Monday, October 20, 2014 at the Butler County Health Care Center.
Marlene L. Palik was born January 18, 1934 to Louis and Amelia(Bartunek) Yindrick, at their house near David City. She graduated from Holy Trinity High School, then went on to get her Teaching Certificate from Midland Lutheran College in Fremont. Marlene was support staff and taught at Region V until retirement. She was united in marriage to Jerome J. Palik on May 18, 1954 at Appleton.
Marlene was a member of the Red Hat Society, St. Mary's PCCW, the Community Choir, and had a weekly holy hour of Adoration. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, crocheting, and oil painting. Marlene loved spending time with her family, and laughing and visiting with everybody.
She is survived by her children: Joe (Mary Beth) Palik, of Omaha, Jim (Jodi) Palik, of Seward, Jerry (Delyce) Palik, of Cabot, AR, Mike (Robin) Palik, of Cabot, AR, Daniel Palik, of David City, Julie (Chuck) Messersmith, of Columbus, Louise (Joel) Kroft, of Seward, Annette (Bob) Griffith, of Columbus, Candi Palik, of Yutan, and Amy Palik, of David City; Siblings: Joe (Betty) Yindrick, Theresa Kuzelka, Rita Helman, Margie (Mel) From, and Ann Yindrick; In-laws: Vic (Carol) Palik, Edith (Mark) Alt, and Lucille Alt; 18 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Marlene is preceded in death by her parents; husband: Jerome, in 2009; Son: John M. Palik; Brothers-in-law: Dennis Palik, Ron Kuzelka, Joe Helman, and Morris Alt; Father & Mother-in-law: Joseph (Marie) Palik; Nephews: Gary Alt, David Alt, and Brian J. Palik.
