Mark A. Zegers, 57, of Columbus, died Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at the Columbus Community Hospital.

Mark A. Zegers was born on April 7, 1962 to Carl and Dorothy (Peters) Zegers in David City. He attended local schools and graduated from Aquinas High School in 1980. He worked at Duo Lift in Columbus as a welder for many years, until having to step back due to health reasons.
Mark loved to garden. He looked forward to "gardening season" every year, so he could get out and plant his vegetable garden. He also enjoyed cooking, especially grilling, shooting his guns, and anything Harley Davidson. In his younger years, he enjoyed trapping and riding his Harley. He had an easy going nature and loved spending time with his friends.
Mark is survived by his daughter: Melissa Zegers and fiance, Andrew Connelly of Columbus and their two children: Rylend and Lily Connelly, step-daughter: Amanda (Benjamin) Dworak of Elgin, Brothers: Mike (Leona) Zegers of David City and Tom (Karen) Zegers of Omaha, sister: Judy (Rob) Formanek of Bennington, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter: Angelina Connelly, one brother: Gerald Zegers and one brother-in-law: Mike Polacek.
