Margaret Long

Margaret was born August 17, 1915 south of Howells to Joseph and Antoinette (Tillman) Bayer. She attended S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic School and Howells High School. Following Normal Training she taught rural school for several years. She married Ernest Long January 12, 1940 at the Immauculata Conception Catholic Church in Denver. Margaret had also lived in Seattle and Los Angeles where she worked for the Security Bank of Los Angeles. She moved back to Howells from Monterey Park, CA in 1992 and enjoyed spending time with her nieces, nephews and other relatives. Margaret died January 4th at the age of 95 at Parkview Home in Dodge where she had been a resident since 1999. Margaret is survived by one sister, Agatha Rubel; one sister-in-law, Elsie Bayer and many nieces and nephews. Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest (March 1, 1991): five brothers, Cyril, Fabian, Sebastian, Ralph and Florian Bayer; three sisters, Marie Heimann, Scolastica Bart and Antoinette Hobza.
