Funeral Mass for Marcella Telecky, age 88 formerly of Howells, will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Howells. Visitation will be held at the church from 4 PM to 7 PM on Monday and 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM on Tuesday. Rosary will be recited at 7 PM on Monday at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Marcella was born July 6, 1928 at Octavia, Nebraska to Milo and Helen (Bruner) Novacek. She attended Butler County rural school and Octavia High School one year before it closed and Marcy continued her education in Schuyler High School graduating in 1946. Marcy and Gilbert Telecky were joined in holy matrimony on September 20, 1951 in Schuyler.
Marcy always kept busy and held various jobs in the Howells area. She enjoyed Nebraska football, bowling and following the Howells High School sports teams. She also enjoyed embroidering, ceramics and traveling – her travels took her to Brazil, Germany, Italy, Austria and Hawaii. Her favorite pastime was spending holidays with her family. Marcy was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. Marcy died February 2, 2017 at Columbus Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Marcella is survived by her five children, Alan Telecky of Centerville, Virginia, Laurene (Mike) Tarvin of Glenwood, Iowa, Mark (Linda) Telecky of Duncan, Denise (Stephen) Buckley of Novi, Michigan, Robert (Gayle)Telecky of Columbus: 17 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; sister, LaVetta (Gerald) Janicek of Bellwood; brother, Patrick Novacek of Spring Valley, California; sisters-in-law, Ann Telecky of Howells and Irene Telecky of Orchard Park, New York.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Telecky (11/4/1977).
In lieu of flowers family suggest memorials to Howells Museum or Howells Ballroom.
