Marcella A Janak

Marcella "Marcy" A. Janak, 87, of Brainard, died Monday, September 14, 2015 at Bryan West Medical Center in Lincoln.

Marcy was born on June 13, 1928, on the farm near Brainard to Jacob and Rose(Dobesh)Hoffbauer. She attended local grade schools and graduated from Brainard High School in 1945. She went on to Midland College to earn her Teaching Certificate and taught at local country schools. She married Arnold Janak on June 28, 1949 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Brainard, and they lived on the farm Northeast of Brainard. Five children were born to this union.

Marcy was a member of the Holy Trinity PCCW, Country Calicos Extension Club and spent many years crafting and going to craft shows. She was an active member of the Holy Trinity Quilters.

Survivors include her children, Beverly Janak of Omaha, Gale(Connie)Janak and Greg(Susan)Janak both of Brainard, Sandra(John)Lanka of Stapleton, NE and Mark(Denise)Janak of Brainard, one brother, Irving Hoffbauer of Des Moines, Iowa, 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Arnold in 2003, 2 brothers: Richard and Arthur Hoffbauer, 3 sisters: Louise Tesina, Adeline Krska, and Cristine Denney.
